Enjoy Ginger

The volatile oils in ginger have long made it a useful herbal remedy for nasal and chest congestion. Pour 2 cups of boiling water over a 1-inch piece of peeled, grated ginger; steep for 10 minutes; and strain. Add a pinch or two of cayenne pepper to the water and drink as needed.

Get off your back rest at least a minute or 2 at a time. Knees towards each other. Shoulders away from each other. Chin back, Chest up. - Dr Eric Goodman

When you are on a long flight, long drive or just sitting at the computer for long periods, take the time out to do the above. It will increase blood circulation, take the pressure off your abdominal tissues and organs, elongate your spine and discs and associated muscles. It opens up your pecs, takes pressure off the trapezius muscles and brings your head and neck into the correct position, over your body, not slumping forward. So important.

Benefits of Weight Training

Strength training increases your physical work capacity. The ability to work harder and longer with correct weights.

It improves bone density. Weight training can assist in controlling bone loss and increase strength.

It promotes fat-free body mass. The lean muscle mass that we all work so hard for decreases as we get older. Lack of strength training will turn muscle mass into weak tissue and fat.

It Increases the strength of connective tissue, muscles, and tendons. This leads to better performance and lessens injury risk.

Strength training will not only make you strong, but will also help with managing your weight and body confidence.

Always consult a Personal Trainer before commencing weigh training.

Struggling With Surfing Back Pain? Try This Prone Decompression

Posted on 9 March, 2016 at 7:35 Comments comments (0)

Back pain plagues all surfers at one point or another. Paddling is simply brutal on the lower back and shoulders, and over time, that tension builds and becomes chronic back pain. With this winter’s solid run of El Niño swell, if you’re experiencing back pain, you’re probably not alone. However, just because you’re experiencing back pain doesn’t mean you have to accept it. Take action now to ease and prevent discomfort. This quick decompression from Foundation Training founder, Eric Goodman, works to counteract the effects of back pain.
